Pooling competencies and leading the way in innovations

DOCERAM Medical Ceramics GmbH from Dortmund and Digitales Kompetenzzentrum GmbH (DKZ) in Witten have signed a cooperation agreement covering the areas of sales, training and product development. The aim is to form a strategic alliance to unite their efforts in an increasingly digital working environment.

High-performance dental ceramics meet digital dental competence

While DOCERAM Medical Ceramics is a specialist in high-quality dental ceramics, DKZ offers digital solutions in the dental industry, from taking the impression digitally (oral scan) to the digital construction and the production of the finished denture. Both companies are very committed to training.
The cooperation agreement includes the sale of Nacera products by DKZ through its sales force. Frank Löring, Managing Director of DKZ, comments on this matter: "We were looking for a zirconium material that meets our high aesthetic standards on the one hand, but also does not compromise on the property aspects of the material, such as its strength, which is far above the value required by the standard. The products from DOCERAM Medical Ceramics meet these requirements.”
In addition, close scientific cooperation is planned. DOCERAM Medical Ceramics can build on the expertise of DKZ in this area. DKZ is linked to Witten/Herdecke University, which is the only private university for dentistry, oral medicine and orthodontics in Germany.

Innovations from practical experience
Frank Löring is a lecturer at Witten/Herdecke University. The proximity to the university makes it easier to document patient cases and publish them in specialist journals. Dr. Karl-Heinz Klotz, Business Unit Director at DOCERAM Medical Ceramics: "The scientific findings gained here can already be taken into account in the development phase of new products at DOCERAM Medical Ceramics.” Dirk Langner, Managing Director of DKZ, goes on to say: "We expect that the close cooperation will enable us to develop products together within a short period of time. We also rely on our new partner's flexibility and ability to react quickly.”

Nacera Classroom sets a precedent
The two companies are also leading the way in the area of training. In future, joint events will take place at DKZ's state-of-the-art training centre. At the same time, DKZ has access to one of the best video training platforms currently available, the Nacera Classroom. In addition, DOCERAM Medical Ceramics supports DKZ with video and image material and provides active support through speakers for non-clinical institutions and universities.
